Kiss announces 50th anniversary reissue of Alive! album

Kiss has unveiled a massive 50th anniversary super deluxe edition of their iconic 1975 live album Alive!, featuring nearly 90 unreleased tracks from 1975 concerts. The reissue, set for release on November 21, includes remastered originals and new mixes of full shows from Iowa and New Jersey, plus bonus rehearsals and recordings. Available in multiple formats, it also packs era-specific memorabilia for fans.

Overview

Kiss, the legendary rock band, is celebrating the 50th anniversary of their breakthrough live album Alive! with an expansive reissue. Originally released in 1975, Alive! captured the band's high-energy performances during the Dressed to Kill Tour and earned a spot at Number Six on Rolling Stone's list of the 50 Greatest Live Albums of All Time. The new Alive! 50th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition restores the album from original tapes, emphasizing the raw, unoverdubbed sound of the era.

Unreleased Content

The centerpiece of the reissue is two complete, previously unreleased concerts: the second show at Davenport, Iowa's RKO Orpheum Theater on July 20, 1975, and the performance at Wildwood, New Jersey's Convention Hall on July 23, 1975. These gigs, newly mixed by longtime producer Eddie Kramer from multi-track analog tapes, include highlights like Ace Frehley's guitar solos—spotlighting the late guitarist's contributions. Additional bonuses feature rehearsals from the Iowa show and select tracks from a June 21, 1975, concert at Cleveland's Music Hall, such as "She," "Nothin’ to Lose," and "C’mon and Love Me."

As a preview, Kiss shared the unreleased recording of “C’mon And Love Me” from the Davenport performance. The press release notes: “For the Super Deluxe box sets, Eddie Kramer has completed new mixes of these particular gigs, revisiting the original multi-track analog tapes and preserving the raw integrity of the performances with no overdubs.”

Packaging and Formats

Beyond the music, the edition includes reproduction ephemera like a 1975 press kit reprint, photos, tour programs, T-shirt iron-ons, backstage passes, ticket stubs, posters, lenticular album covers, coasters, guitar picks, bumper stickers, and a die-cut mobile. A limited run of 1,000 copies adds an archival hardcover book on the Dressed to Kill Tour and Gotham Rock City News Volume 4, featuring a track-by-track interview with Kramer.

Preorders are available now through the Kiss shop in formats including 4CD/1Blu-ray, 8LP/1Blu-ray, deluxe picture disc vinyl, and premium color vinyl. The full track list spans the remastered Alive!, the unreleased shows, rehearsals, and high-resolution Blu-ray audio in Dolby Atmos, 5.1, and stereo.
