Latam Airlines Colombia carried 2.5 million passengers in the first quarter of 2026, on track for over 10 million annually. CEO Erika Zarante Bahamón emphasized that one in three people flying in Latin America does so with the airline. She outlined growth plans and challenges like fuel costs.
Latam Airlines Colombia reported carrying 2.5 million passengers in the local market during the first quarter of 2026, positioning it to exceed 10 million national passengers for the year, according to CEO Erika Zarante Bahamón.
Zarante detailed that the company serves 27 destinations in Colombia with 29 A320 aircraft, providing 26 domestic routes and 11 international ones. They operate over 190 daily flights on average and have 4.42 million Latam Pass members, 18% of whom are elite. Passenger satisfaction stands at 67% in the Colombian market.
"Latam Airlines has every intention of continuing to grow and invest in Colombia. We expect to grow between 7% and 8% in the number of passengers transported this year compared to 2025", Zarante stated. The Bogotá-Medellín route saw a 10% passenger increase, with an average of 145 weekly flights.
In cargo, Latam moved one million tons in 2025 with 20 freighter aircraft, led by flowers at 300,000 tons from Colombia and Ecuador to the United States, holding 45% market share. In Q1 2026, they transported 35,000 tons, 93% flowers, with 49% domestic market share. The CEO called on the next government to improve airport infrastructure, including El Dorado's expansion.
