Singer Lauren Bennett, known for her feature on LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem," has died at age 37. The news was announced Monday by the surviving members of her former group G.R.L.
Bennett's bandmates in G.R.L. shared the announcement on Instagram. "It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren," they wrote. "Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us."
The group added that they would "forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories" Bennett gave them. Her cause of death was not disclosed.
Bennett rose to prominence with the 2011 track "Party Rock Anthem," which spent six weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. She had earlier performed with Paradiso Girls and later joined G.R.L., contributing to hits like Pitbull's "Wild Wild Love."
Bennett is survived by her 6-year-old daughter. She was the second member of G.R.L. to pass away, following Simone Battle in 2014.
