Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, New Line Cinema and Dolby Cinemas at AMC are hosting a premiere event for “Lee Cronin’s The Mummy” on April 16 at 7 p.m. local time. The screenings will occur at 183 AMC Theatres across 47 U.S. cities, kicking off the third annual “Halfway to Halloween” celebration. Tickets are now on sale.
The event marks a new twist on the “Halfway to Halloween” initiative, giving horror enthusiasts an early scare midway through the year. As exclusively reported by Variety, writer-director-executive producer Lee Cronin described the film as one that “gets under your skin in the most literal way possible.” He added, “There are images in this film that are going to make you look away and not be able to stop looking at the same time. Experiencing that in Dolby, surrounded by a crowd who has no idea what’s coming, on opening night, will be unforgettable.” Tickets became available immediately following the announcement on April 1, 2026, for screenings presented in Dolby Cinema format. Jason Blum, founder and CEO of Blumhouse, emphasized the appeal to dedicated fans. “Horror fans don’t wait for Halloween,” Blum said. “They live in it all year. This year we wanted to give them something they’ve never had from Halfway to Halloween: opening night! Lee Cronin made something genuinely disturbing and we want the people who love this genre to be the first ones inside the theater together.” Participating cities span the country, including Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, New York, and Washington D.C., among others. The nationwide rollout aims to build buzz for the upcoming horror film ahead of its wider release.
