Madrid school achieves first trip in 15 years via crowdfunding

Students from IES Numancia returned from a three-day trip to Granada after raising nearly 20,000 euros. The effort ended 15 years without school trips.

The school in Puente de Vallecas organized the trip for 84 students and seven teachers. They departed on June 8 for Granada, where they visited the Alhambra and Salobreña beach.

Teacher David Sicilia said the crowdfunding exceeded the initial 8,000-euro goal. Some donations reached 400 euros and several students saw the sea for the first time.

The group enjoyed water activities, viewpoint walks and a free guided visit to the Capilla Real. Sicilia highlighted donors’ generosity and the collective effort that made the outing possible.
