Man surrenders on live tv over attempted homicide in córdoba

Emiliano Moyano, wanted for attempted homicide, appeared on a Córdoba TV program to defend his innocence and ended up surrendering to police live on air. The man, previously convicted of robbery, claims the charge stems from conflicts in the Instituto club's barra brava. The incident sparked surprise and buzz on social media.

Emiliano Moyano, a man with a criminal record for qualified robbery for which he served nearly ten years in prison, appeared on Friday on the program 'El Show del Lagarto' on El Doce in Córdoba. There, he defended his innocence against the charge of attempted homicide on a woman, whom he allegedly shot seven times in February 2024.

Moyano linked the accusation to a settling of scores tied to internal conflicts in the barra brava of Instituto de Córdoba club. 'On October 14, the police raided my house, pointed guns at me, broke everything. They're persecuting me as if I did something and they have no proof. I want them to listen to me', he stated on camera. He explained that two of his cousins were shot in the same month, and that he's being blamed for revenge without evidence. 'They blame me because it all happened on the same date they killed my cousins. They say it was revenge, but I wasn't there. They're accusing me unjustly', he asserted.

The man, previously acquitted of a homicide, detailed his past sentence: nine years and eight months for robbery. 'I'm going to surrender because I'm innocent and have nothing to do with it. There are cameras that show it wasn't me. They're ruining my life and keeping me from my family', he said, hugging his partner at the end.

Minutes later, police arrested him live on air, taking him to a station. The case, still under judicial investigation, has sparked buzz on social media for the unusual use of a media outlet to turn himself in. Moyano remains in custody awaiting procedural decisions.
