Manchester United chief executive Omar Berrada believes the club is close to winning the Premier League title, ideally next season or the one after.
Berrada spoke on Inside Man Utd about the team's progress after finishing third in the Premier League last season under manager Michael Carrick. The club secured a return to the Champions League following a strong finish. He said the target remains the club's 21st Premier League title by 2028. 'Ideally, we do it next season, and if not, then the following season. I think we’re in a good place,' Berrada stated. Berrada also confirmed plans to retain captain Bruno Fernandes after his record-breaking season. 'We’d like him to stay. Of course we do,' he added. On transfers, the club will follow the strategy from last summer by mixing experienced Premier League players with younger talents from outside the league. Berrada stressed the need for financial sustainability and commercial innovation alongside on-pitch success.
