May Hong, known for her role as Mira in Netflix's KPop Demon Hunters, has joined the cast of Perfect Girl in an exclusive announcement ahead of the American Film Market. She reunites with Arden Cho, another KPop Demon Hunters voice actress, alongside Adeline Rudolph, John Kim, and K-pop star Jeon Somi, who is making her acting debut. Plot and Production Details

Based on Lynn Q. Yu's 2023 Black List script, Perfect Girl follows a new K-pop supergroup preparing for debut, with only four spots available and a mysterious new girl triggering a series of attacks during the final selection week. Directed by Hong Won-ki, founder of Korean production company Zanybros and known for K-pop videos like Goedam, the English-language film is produced by Badlands, Thunder Road (John Wick producers), Cho, and Desert Bloom.

Filming commenced in Thailand on October 31, 2025. Producer Scott Strauss commented, “Director Hong has put together a dream international cast to bring to life his uniquely fun vision for a horror movie set against the backdrop of K-Pop.” Upgrade is handling international sales at AFM, with CAA Media Finance repping domestic rights.

The film will include six original tracks blending music and horror elements. Jeon Somi contributes a new song via Teddy Park’s The Black Label, which also produced KPop Demon Hunters' soundtrack. Production involves duos Moonshine (credits include KEY’s “Hunter” and Red Velvet’s “Cosmic”) and Sunshine (aespa’s “Hot Mess” and Tomorrow X Together’s “Good Boy Gone Bad”).
