The Ministry of Public Education released the official 2026-2027 school calendar, which begins on August 31, 2026 and includes 185 class days.
The Official Gazette of the Federation published the agreement on July 15, 2026. The school year for preschool, primary and secondary levels will begin on Monday, August 31, 2026 and end on Friday, July 9, 2027.
Winter break is scheduled from December 21, 2026 to January 6, 2027. Holidays include September 16, November 2 and November 16, 2026.
School Technical Council sessions will create long weekends on September 25, October 30 and November 27, 2026, among other dates. The calendar is mandatory for public and private schools incorporated into the national education system.
