Monreal attributes ultraright gains in Latin America to US

Ricardo Monreal, Morena coordinator, said the United States bears full responsibility for the rise of conservative governments in the region.

Monreal acknowledged the shift in Latin America's political pendulum. He pointed to ultraright advances in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Peru and Colombia.

The legislator stated that United States influence is enormous in these nations. He added that the northern country has everything to do with the recent wins of Keiko Fujimori in Peru and Abelardo de la Espriella in Colombia.

Monreal, promoter of a reform approved in early June to annul elections due to foreign interference, said a vaccine against interventions now exists. He said he does not fear the United States and only fears God.
