A young motorcyclist lost his life in an accident in Pitalito, while his passenger suffered serious injuries. The crash occurred on the night of the previous Friday in the area of the market square roundabout.
The fatal accident involved Sneider Anacona Trujillo, a resident of the Bruselas hamlet in the Laboyos valley. The young man was riding the motorcycle when, according to initial hypotheses, he lost control of the vehicle in Comuna Uno of Pitalito, resulting in a severe crash that claimed his life at the scene.
His passenger received immediate aid and was taken to a medical center, where he was recovering from injuries the following Saturday. Local authorities are investigating the exact circumstances of the crash, which took place at the market square roundabout during Friday night.
On social media, friends and acquaintances expressed their grief over the loss. Isnelda Gutiérrez wrote: “Dios mío santísimo cuida de nuestros muchachos. Dios lo tenga en su santo reino y mucha fortaleza para su madre y su tía Yoli y demás familia”. Natalia Jiménez added: “Dios lo tenga en su santa gloria, mucha fortaleza y mucha fuerza para toda su familia”. Anacona Trujillo's body was taken to the morgue of the Instituto de Medicina Legal for standard procedures before being released to his family. This incident highlights road risks in the municipality, though the precise causes are still being determined.
