Motorist Association rejects NTSA eLogbook conversion fees

The Motorist Association of Kenya has opposed the National Transport and Safety Authority's decision to charge for converting physical logbooks to eLogbooks. The group described the fees as unjustified double payment. NTSA rolled out eLogbooks on June 10.

The Motorist Association of Kenya stated that motorists already pay registration fees that cover logbook issuance. It called the new charges unlawful and part of a pattern that includes prior fees for digital driving licences.

MAK said Kenyans expect efficient services without repeated charges for the same product. The association urged NTSA to withdraw the fees and asked Parliament and other bodies to investigate the recurring charges.

NTSA has maintained that applications submitted before June 10 will result in physical copies.
