The day before, at the wedding of Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi's son, Ruto had urged those over 25 to wed and avoid moving 'from one club to the other.'
Mosiria, drawing from his experience in the Nairobi County Environment department, highlighted the nightlife's impact on young people. He noted conducting late-night operations in clubs, where he observed more girls participating than boys, with the boy child often staying home while girls engaged in what he called the 'Nairobi Night Economy.' This, he argued, underscores the need for intervention to promote responsible living.
The Chief Officer proposed that the Ministry of Youth introduce a special fund, dubbed the 'Starter Life Kit,' offering one-year support to help eligible youth marry and establish households. 'Mr. President, is there a way the Ministry of Youth can introduce a special "Starter Life Kit" for young people aged 25 and above just one-year support to help them marry and start life?' Mosiria asked in his post.
He contended that such aid would stabilize the youth, foster family-building, and curb the growing trend of nightlife activities. Mosiria expressed confidence that young Kenyans are prepared to contribute to a more stable nation through marriage and responsible choices, addressing the financial barriers that currently hinder them.
