The Nasarawa State Police Command arrested a 30-year-old man on Sunday for the alleged culpable homicide of his 20-year-old wife in Agyaragu.
The incident occurred at about 12:30 p.m. in Angwan Yahaya, Agyaragu, Obi Local Government Area. The victim left behind two children from their six-year marriage. Police responded to a complaint at the Agyaragu Police Division and took the victim to the Federal University Teaching Hospital in Lafia.
Superintendent of Police Rahman Nansel stated that the suspect, Musbawu Amodu, was arrested promptly. During interrogation he allegedly confessed to the act out of anger after an argument over preparing food. He expressed remorse.
Commissioner of Police Shetima Jauro Mohammed ordered the case transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia for investigation. He assured that the suspect will face court after the probe concludes and urged couples to resolve disputes through dialogue.
