Netflix renews 'Finding Her Edge' for second season

Netflix has picked up a second season of the young adult romance series 'Finding Her Edge,' based on Jennifer Iacopelli's 2022 novel. The show follows the Russo sisters navigating a struggling figure skating dynasty. Season 1, which premiered on January 22, has already garnered over 12 million views.

The renewal comes shortly after the debut of 'Finding Her Edge,' a series centered on the three Russo sisters, heirs to a financially troubled figure skating legacy. At the heart of the story is 17-year-old middle sister Adriana, played by Madelyn Keys, who is training for the World Championships with her new partner Brayden, portrayed by Cale Ambrozic. Adriana still holds feelings for her former partner and first love, Freddie, played by Olly Atkins. To secure a sponsorship and save the family rink, Adriana and Brayden pretend to be a couple off the ice.

The ensemble cast also features Harmon Walsh, Alexandra Beaton, Meredith Forlenza, Alice Malakhov, Niko Ceci, and Millie Davis. Behind the scenes, Jeff Norton serves as showrunner, with Shelley Scarrow as head writer. Additional writers include Sabrina Sherif and Jacqueline Pepall, who also directs alongside Shamim Sarif. Executive producers are Norton, Stephanie Betts, and Angela Boudreault from WildBrain.

Season 1's success is evident in its viewership, exceeding 12 million views since its January 22 premiere. The adaptation has boosted the source material: Jen Klonsky, president and publisher of Putnam Books for Young Readers, stated that the December 2025 paperback edition, featuring a Netflix burst, sold 500% more copies than the original hardcover in just eight weeks.

Norton expressed enthusiasm for the continuation, saying, “I set out to make a show about love, featuring characters navigating a particularly difficult path in their lives and in their sport. It’s a true gift to be able to work with such a talented cast to extend these characters’ journeys in Season 2... There’s plenty of drama to come both on and off the ice.”

Author Jennifer Iacopelli shared her excitement: “I am over the moon at the reception ‘Finding Her Edge’ has received by viewers all over the world. To see my book come to life and watch the world fall in love with my characters has been a dream come true, and now that dream gets to continue with a season two! I can’t wait for audiences to see what’s in store for Adriana, Brayden, Freddie and the rest of Team Russo!”

The series delves into romantic and familial love triangles, promising more tension in the competitive world of figure skating.
