New series spotlights Ireland's inspiring entrepreneurs

A new four-part documentary series, The Entrepreneurs, will profile 12 finalists from this year's EY Entrepreneur Of The Year awards. Narrated by broadcaster Kathryn Thomas, the show explores the highs, lows, and bold innovations of these business leaders. It premieres on RTÉ One on November 3 at 8pm.

Series Overview

The Entrepreneurs is a four-part documentary series that delves into the stories of Ireland's most successful and inspiring business leaders. Each 30-minute episode features three of the 12 EY Entrepreneur Of The Year finalists, highlighting their entrepreneurial journeys, overcome challenges, and the creative thinking driving their success. The series aims to showcase the ambition and confidence defining Ireland's entrepreneurial spirit, especially amid geopolitical tensions, shifting trade, and technological changes.

From skincare to engineering, the profiled entrepreneurs represent diverse sectors, backgrounds, and regions, including women founders, family businesses, and high-growth scale-ups. Northern Ireland is represented by Martin Tierney, founder of Seating Matters in Limavady; William McColgan, founder of McColgan’s in Strabane, Co Tyrone; and Terry Hughes, founder of Belfast-based Pivotal.

Premiere and Context

The series kicks off on RTÉ One on Monday, November 3, at 8pm, with episodes airing weekly. It ties into the 28th year of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year programme, which supports over 680 entrepreneurs employing more than 275,000 people and generating €28bn in revenues across Ireland.
