Nike readies Air Max Plus Lava Lamp colorway

Nike is preparing to release a new Air Max Plus sneaker featuring an iridescent design inspired by a lava lamp. The colorway, also known unofficially as Oil Slick, uses jet black tones with shimmering overlays. It is expected to arrive soon on Nike.com at a retail price of $190.

The Nike Air Max Plus “Lava Lamp” carries the model number IH7960-001. Its side panels display liquid-like sections that bend and streak toward the heel, creating a shimmering effect against the predominantly black upper.

The sneaker stands apart as attention shifts to other Air Max models ahead of the Air Max 97 anniversary in 2027. Nike positions the Lava Lamp as one of the stronger recent offerings in the Plus line.

Release details remain limited to an imminent launch on the brand website. No specific date has been confirmed beyond the general expectation of availability in the near term.
