North Texas gears up for FIFA World Cup 2026 final draw

North Texas is buzzing with excitement as it hosts the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Draw on Dec. 5. Fans across the region are organizing watch parties and celebrations to mark the event where 42 qualified national teams will be sorted into 12 groups of four. Venues like Billy Bob’s Texas and the National Soccer Hall of Fame are transforming into hubs for soccer enthusiasts.

The FIFA World Cup Final Draw, set for Dec. 5 in North Texas, will determine the group stage matchups for the 2026 tournament. During the event, 42 qualified national teams, along with placeholders for six playoff spots, will be assigned to 12 groups of four. The draw's outcome will also reveal playing locations the following day.

In Fort Worth, Billy Bob’s Texas is hosting the official World Cup 26 Draw Party Experience, expecting between 2,000 and 5,000 fans. Amanda Banda, a staff member, emphasized the significance: “This is where they’re going to be picking the teams. It’s really important to know who’s coming here, who’s going to be housed here during FIFA time.” This marks the first such event for the iconic venue, known for hosting country artists and even Sesame Street cast members.

Further north in Frisco, the National Soccer Hall of Fame's Gallagher Club will host a watch party with views of the field and trophies on display. A representative highlighted the site's uniqueness: “This is probably the only place where you can find four Women’s World Cup trophies. No other city has got more games than Dallas does.” Hundreds have already RSVP’d, with opportunities to enter a raffle for two tickets to all five group-stage matches expected in the area in 2026. Organizers anticipate a possible Zoom appearance by the U.S. Men’s National Team. Kris Katseanes described the atmosphere: “For soccer fans, this is like Selection Sunday for March Madness. There’s going to be an energy in the building that will be very unique.”

In Addison, The Londoner pub is preparing a themed draw party with dishes and drinks inspired by competing nations. Bartender Sam Claytor noted, “We’re so deeply rooted in soccer for Dallas,” adding that the atmosphere transports fans directly into the match.

These events showcase North Texas's embrace of the global sport, blending local pride with international excitement.
