PAES results released and university applications begin for 2026 admission

On Monday, January 5, starting at 08:00 hours, the results of the Higher Education Access Test (PAES) taken in December will be released. Students can check their scores on acceso.mineduc.cl or demre.cl, and one hour later, the application period will begin, running until January 8.

Chile's higher education admission process moves forward with the release of the Higher Education Access Test (PAES) results, a key exam for applicants who completed fourth year of high school or graduated in 2025 and earlier years, including foreigners with validated studies. Taken in December, this test sets the scores needed for the 2026 Admission process.

Results will be available online from 08:00 hours on January 5 via the official portals. At 09:00 hours the same day, the application stage to universities in the Access System will start, ending on January 8 at 13:00 hours. Later, selection results will be announced on January 19 at 12:00 hours, followed by matriculations in two stages: January 20 to 22 and January 23 to 29.

To guide their choices, students can use the mifuturo.cl platform from the Undersecretary of Higher Education. The site provides data on employability in the first and second year after graduation, average income in the fourth year, and filters by institution, career, or knowledge area, such as Health, with information updated to September 2025. These tools assist in weighing not just vocation, but also labor projections and salary expectations.
