Pertamina confirms safe energy supply after Sulawesi quake

Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi has confirmed that energy supplies remain secure following a magnitude 7.7 earthquake in southern Philippines and North Sulawesi on June 8, 2026.

Integrated Terminal Manager Bitung Arman Prastiono said emergency response procedures were activated immediately after the Monday morning quake. Thorough checks confirmed that main facilities in Bitung remained secure. Operations at Fuel Terminal Tahuna were temporarily halted as a tsunami precaution following directions from local government and BPBD. Other sites including Integrated Terminal Gorontalo and Aviation Fuel Terminal Sam Ratulangi were also declared safe. Arman added that regular monitoring and coordination with BMKG and relevant agencies continue. Area Manager Lilik Hardiyanto expressed empathy for affected communities and urged residents to follow official information.
