PlaqueBoyMax, a prominent Twitch streamer, expressed profound gratitude upon learning of his Grammy nomination for 'Victory Lap' ahead of the 2026 ceremony. Speaking to Rolling Stone on February 5, 2026, he described the moment he found out: "It’s a blessing. It’s an honor." He was streaming live from his home in Los Angeles when the news broke, prompting him to jump around in excitement. This marks his debut at the Grammys, an event he has never attended before.
The nomination stems from a collaborative effort on 'Victory Lap.' During a stream with producer Fred Again, three beats were created, one of which was selected for the track. Soon after, PlaqueBoyMax streamed with rapper Skepta, followed by a group phone call to finalize the collaboration. Reflecting on the process, he said, "When Fred was making the beat, I had a feeling like … something special. It felt like a moment." He added, "It’s crazy. It’s surreal."
Looking ahead to the Grammys, PlaqueBoyMax is eager to meet Pharrell, whose multifaceted career in music and fashion inspires him. "I look at someone like him, and I think it’s very inspiring. So, I want to maybe pick his brain if I have the opportunity to," he noted, highlighting parallels to his own unique path from streaming to music.
