Pokopia players recreate Kanto region from Pokémon Red and Blue

Fans of Pokémon Pokopia are using the game's free creation tools to rebuild the Kanto region from the original Pokémon Red and Blue games as closely as possible. Twitch streamer Quenca is leading the effort, dubbed Kantopia, in the Palette Town area. The project has progressed to Viridian City amid some adaptations due to space constraints.

Pokémon Pokopia centers on rebuilding society after an apocalyptic event, with elaborate creation tools that allow players to construct homes and infrastructure. These features, including patches of tall grass, Pokémon Centers, and Pokémarts, mirror elements from early Pokémon titles, making recreations feasible given the game's simplistic art style comparable to Generation 1 assets. Twitch streamer Quenca shared progress on the Kantopia project via a tweet on March 15, 2026: “On avance petit à petit le Kanto dans Pokémon Pokopia ! On a même attaqué Jadielle ! #Kantopia Bon par contre les calculs n'étaient pas bons, impossible de refaire en 1:1 donc on va adapter certaines routes pour gagner de la place !” The build has reached Viridian City, known as Jadielle in French, but may encounter challenges from Pokopia’s limit of 40 buildings. Other players are crafting landmarks from various Pokémon games, such as structures from the Mystery Dungeon series and the Prism Tower from Pokémon X and Y.

In Pokémon game Pokopia, only about 30 of the 300 possible Pokémon appear in an area at once, causing others to despawn. Players can search for missing ones via the Pokédex and use honey at their homes to bring them back. This mechanic, while not a bug, requires consumable resources.
