The Polícia Militar Rodoviária seized 42.9 kilograms of cocaine valued at R$ 3.2 million during a traffic stop on Rodovia Raposo Tavares in Palmital.
The seizure took place on Saturday (4/7) as part of Operação Impacto. Officers from the Tático Ostensivo Rodoviário unit stopped the van and noticed the occupants gave contradictory statements and appeared nervous.
During the search, police found a false bottom in the vehicle roof containing 41 tablets of the drug. The driver was arrested on the spot for drug trafficking and taken to the Federal Police station in Marília.
A female passenger was taken to the police unit for questioning and released after giving a statement.
