Pre-election polls ahead of overseas ballot closures pointed to Abelardo De La Espriella as the frontrunner in Colombia's presidential runoff.
Surveys by CNC, AtlasIntel and Guarumo Ecoanalítica gave De La Espriella between 48.6 % and 52.6 % of the vote, against 44.5 % to 45 % for Iván Cepeda. A Celag Data poll was the only one to favor Cepeda with 40.8 % to 39.7 %.
Voting had already closed in Europe and Asia for Colombians abroad. More than 116 consulates across 67 countries received ballots, with high turnout noted in Madrid and Miami.
Registrar Hernán Penagos reported normal operations throughout the day. In Venezuela, 170,000 Colombians voted and Ambassador Milton Rengifo confirmed no incidents occurred.
