The medical centers reported through official statements that they activated contingency measures to care for patients at greatest risk. At the Hospital Universitario San José occupancy in Neonatology reached 132 percent with no availability of cribs or incubators while Adult Emergency reached 201 percent.
At the Hospital Susana López de Valencia Pediatric Emergency recorded over-occupancy of 482 percent Adult Emergency 216 percent and Gynecological Emergency 150 percent. Operating rooms are running at maximum capacity.
The institutions will apply the triage system to prioritize high-complexity cases. Patients with non-life-threatening conditions must go to the IPS in their network or to priority consultation services of their EPS. The entry of family members and companions was restricted.
