President Prabowo Subianto attended a state dinner hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace in Paris on Thursday (28/5) local time.
President Prabowo was welcomed directly by President Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron at the main staircase of the Elysee Palace. The two leaders embraced warmly before entering the main hall Salle des Fetes for the dinner.
Prabowo welcomed the establishment of the France-Indonesia High Level Business Council. He expressed a desire to boost economic cooperation and investment between the two countries.
Macron affirmed Indonesia as an important strategic partner in the Indo-Pacific region. The leaders discussed cooperation in defense, clean energy, education, and implementation of the I-EU CEPA.
Prabowo stated that Indonesia and France agree on the importance of a two-state solution for peace in the Middle East. He also instructed schools in Indonesia to teach the French language.
