Primal Scream announces Bunker Trilogy reissues and tour

Primal Scream has announced expanded reissues of three albums from the late 1990s and early 2000s under the title The Bunker Trilogy. The releases will appear on double LP, CD and digital formats starting in August. The band will also launch a UK tour performing one of the albums in full.

The collection begins with the August 7 reissue of 1997's Vanishing Point. XTRMNTR follows on September 4 and Evil Heat arrives October 30. Each edition includes new mixes, previously unreleased material, B-sides and new liner notes.

Frontman Bobby Gillespie described the original albums as a reaction against the Britpop era. He said the band recorded them at their North London studio and aimed to create uncompromising music about alienation and social issues.

The XTRMNTR anniversary tour opens with two nights at Glasgow Barrowland on September 3 and 4. It concludes at London's HERE Outernet on September 15. The band will play the full album at each show after a prior 25th anniversary performance at the Roundhouse last December.
