PSOE limits investigated plot to Cerdán and Díez in Pedraz case

The PSOE has attributed the alleged plot to discredit judges and the UCO exclusively to Santos Cerdán and Leire Díez, according to revelations from the caso Leire court file published on Wednesday.

Party and government sources insisted that Pedro Sánchez was unaware of the activities of those under investigation. Organization secretary Rebeca Torró described the events as “individual behaviors of fraudsters, opportunists and resentful people” who falsely used the PSOE name.

The Guardia Civil’s Central Operative Unit concludes in its reports that Cerdán led the network and that Díez acted under his orders to protect the president’s interests. The UCO infers that references to “the one” in intercepted messages allude to Sánchez.

The party reiterated that the three contracts with Díez are formally legal and that it had already acted against several people mentioned, including Cerdán’s dismissal a year ago. Emiliano García-Page criticized the PSOE for not filing a complaint against Díez.
