Radiohead performs 'Kid A' and 'Talk Show Host' after seven years

Radiohead dusted off two rare tracks, 'Kid A' and 'Talk Show Host,' for the first time since 2018 during a concert at Unipol Arena in Bologna, Italy. The performance marked a highlight in their ongoing tour, where the band has already debuted 43 different songs across seven shows. Fans are eagerly anticipating more surprises as the tour continues.

Performance Details

On Monday evening, Radiohead took the stage at Unipol Arena in Bologna, Italy, breaking out 'Kid A' from their 2000 album and the Bends-era B-side 'Talk Show Host.' These songs had not been played live by the band since 2018, adding a special thrill to the setlist for attendees.

The tour has been eclectic so far, with Radiohead performing 43 unique songs in just seven concerts. While selections from albums like OK Computer, In Rainbows, and Hail to the Thief have dominated recent shows, Kid A tracks have made occasional appearances, totaling six songs from that record at various points.

Song Backgrounds

'Talk Show Host' originated during 1994 sessions for The Bends but emerged as a B-side to 'Street Spirit (Fade Out)' in January 1996. It gained wider exposure through a remix on the soundtrack for Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet that October. Thom Yorke contributed 'Exit Music (For a Film)' to the same movie but reserved it for OK Computer. The track entered Radiohead's live repertoire during the 1997 OK Computer tour due to the film's popularity and has now been performed 241 times, the most for any non-album song in their catalog.

In contrast, 'Kid A' has been a staple since the album's tour began in June 2000. Though Kid A and its companion Amnesiac have influenced setlists for 25 years, this tour slightly shifts focus to earlier and later works. Only 'You and Whose Army?' and 'Pyramid Song' from Amnesiac have appeared so far.

Tour Outlook

Radiohead wraps the Bologna leg with another show on Tuesday before moving to London, Copenhagen, and Berlin, with four performances per city. Fans hope for deeper cuts, including tracks from Pablo Honey like 'Blow Out' or 'Anyone Can Play Guitar,' or Amnesiac rarities such as 'Hunting Bears.' No announcements have been made regarding 2026 dates.
