Rahul Gandhi quips at advisor to speed up investment returns

Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi exchanged light-hearted messages on X with his long-time investment adviser Muthukrishnan Dhandapani. Dhandapani praised Gandhi for maintaining professional respect despite knowing his support for the BJP. Gandhi replied by asking him to focus on improving returns on his investments.

Muthukrishnan Dhandapani, who has managed Rahul Gandhi’s investments since 2013, posted on X that he has been a strong supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi from 2014 to 2024. He noted that this had never affected their working relationship and said every conversation with Gandhi had been marked by respect.

Gandhi responded briefly, writing, “Muthu ji, your political views are your own — but please do speed up the returns on my investments.” Dhandapani said he was pleasantly surprised by the reply and had not expected Gandhi to notice or respond to his post.

The exchange occurred as Gandhi was in Chennai on Sunday to support the swearing-in of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay. Dhandapani described Gandhi as someone who respects professionals regardless of political differences.
