Release Details
Romeo Is a Dead Man, an ultraviolent multiversal bounty-hunting game from Grasshopper Manufacture, is set to release on February 11, 2026. Priced at $50, it will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. This marks the studio's first self-published title, with executive director Goichi 'Suda51' Suda revealing the date in a recent announcement.
The game features players as FBI Space-Time special agent Romeo Stargazer, who hunts fugitives across the multiverse while searching for his lost girlfriend, Juliet. Built using Unreal Engine 5, it promises intense third-person adventure gameplay.
Potential Delays and Platforms
Suda noted that the release could shift by up to two weeks if the master copy is rejected up to three times, potentially aligning it with Resident Evil Requiem on February 27, 2026. The team aims to avoid direct competition with major titles. February 2026 is packed, with Romeo Is a Dead Man launching a day before Yakuza Kiwami 3, alongside other releases like Tales of Berseria Remastered and Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined.
A Switch 2 port is 'something that we'd definitely like to do,' Suda told GamesRadar+, but it would follow the initial launch. He explained to VGC the challenges of adapting Unreal Engine 5 features like Nanite and Lumen for the platform: 'We've got to make sure it works on PC and the other platforms that have already been decided on... we need to make sure that we can find a way that the engine is going to play nicely with Switch 2.'
