British singer-songwriter Martha Skye Murphy and New Zealand guitar composer Roy Montgomery will release their debut joint album, Nebular, on August 7 via AD 93.
The pair's first full-length collaboration follows their 2024 single Need and earlier joint performances, including shows during Montgomery's 2023 residency at London's Cafe Oto.
The album opens with the seven-minute track Cloudburst, which is accompanied by visuals from artist Simon English. A full tracklist has also been shared.
In a press release, Murphy described their creative process as a shared vernacular that relies on layers, multitracking and imperfection. She added that the collaboration feels like a continuously unravelling piece of string, with one song leading to the next like a slowly evolving constellation.
Montgomery, long a cult favorite, has seen renewed attention in recent years and released the archival album Guitars Infernal in February. Murphy issued her debut album, Um, on AD 93 in 2024.
