The show opened with a short film in which Carpenter played a speeding motorist pulled over by a cop portrayed by Sam Elliott, transitioning seamlessly into songs from her latest album, Man's Best Friend, released last September after 2024's Short & Sweet. Early tracks included 'House Tour,' which has a recent music video featuring Carpenter alongside Madelyn Cline and Margaret Qualley as cat burglars, followed by 'Taste' and 'Busy Woman.'
