Developer Tribute Games has revealed that Scott Pilgrim EX, a spiritual successor to the 2010 beat-em-up, will launch on March 3, 2026. The announcement includes a new gameplay trailer and two additional playable characters: Matthew Patel and Robot-01. The game will be available digitally on multiple platforms.
Tribute Games, the studio behind the late 2025 release of Marvel Cosmic Invasion, has set a firm date for Scott Pilgrim EX. This retro-inspired title builds on the 2010 game Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game by adding RPG-lite elements, such as non-linear quests and exploration, while retaining the beat-em-up core.
The story unfolds in Toronto, where the Sex Bob-omb band is kidnapped amid chaos caused by demons, vegans, and robots. Scott Pilgrim and Ramona Flowers team up with five allies to rescue them and restore order, with one final ally yet to be unveiled. Creator Bryan Lee O'Malley clarified last year that the game is not a direct sequel to prior Scott Pilgrim stories, though familiarity with the franchise may enhance the experience.
The new trailer showcases Matthew Patel, a member of the League of Evil Exes, who employs fire-based attacks, ritualistic showmanship, summons demon hipsters, and delivers burning finishing moves. Robot-01, created by the Katayanagi Twins, offers flight capabilities, precise melee strikes, and long-range weapons.
Scott Pilgrim EX will launch digitally on March 3, 2026, for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. Physical editions are teased to follow soon after. This announcement positions the game as a highly anticipated winter release among retro gaming enthusiasts.
