SEBI warns listed firms of rising boss scam fraud

SEBI has issued a warning to listed companies and other regulated entities about a growing cyber fraud known as the boss scam.

Fraudsters pose as senior executives to trick finance teams into making unauthorized fund transfers.

The scheme uses email, WhatsApp and advanced AI tools including voice cloning to carry out the deception.

SEBI advised all entities under its oversight to stay alert and strengthen internal controls against such impersonation attempts.
