Sennheiser unveils RS 275 TV headphones with Auracast bundle

Sennheiser has introduced the RS 275 TV Headphones bundled with a BTA1 digital receiver, featuring Auracast technology for low-latency audio. The setup allows connections up to 50 meters and supports broadcast Bluetooth audio to compatible devices. Pre-orders begin on February 3, with shipping starting February 17.

Sennheiser announced the RS 275 TV Headphones on January 22, 2026, pairing them with the BTA1 digital receiver to enhance TV audio experiences. The headphones leverage Auracast, a broadcast Bluetooth audio standard highlighted at CES 2024, enabling low-latency transmission over distances of up to 50 meters. Users can connect the RS 275 to Auracast-enabled devices or those using Bluetooth Classic, while the BTA1 receiver broadcasts an Auracast signal in a room for other compatible gear, such as hearing aids, loudspeakers, or additional headphone sets.

Battery life stands at 50 hours per charge, with recharging possible via the receiver's USB-C port. Sennheiser emphasized comfort for extended use, incorporating replaceable ear cushions and batteries that owners can swap themselves. The Sennheiser Smart Control Plus App adds customization options, including locating lost headphones, activating transparency mode, adjusting left-right balance, selecting hearing profiles, and choosing audio modes based on device type.

Priced at $300 for the bundle, the RS 275 set offers accessibility for home entertainment upgrades. The standalone BTA1 receiver costs $130. This launch builds on Auracast's potential to streamline audio sharing in shared spaces, though adoption depends on broader device compatibility.
