The nomination process involved six at-risk participants: Josh Martínez (automatically nominated), Celinee Santos with 14 points, Julia Argüelles with 13 points, Sergio Mayer with 13 points, Jailyne Ojeda with 12 points, and Caeli with 9 points. Fabio Agostini's salvation modified the initial plate. During the gala, saves included Josh Martínez at 7:30, Caeli at 7:45, Celinee Santos at 7:48, and Jailyne Ojeda at 7:40. At 7:49, the elimination narrowed to Mayer and Argüelles, confirming Mayer's exit at 8:00.
In his first statements to Telemundo, Mayer reflected: “I feel weird, I would have loved a longer stay and continuity, that's what we all entered for, but I love playing with fire, though the public decided to burn me; that's my game, I assume it and confront it”. He added: “No big deal, that's how it is, we enjoyed it, we'll continue here a bit longer. Yes, the public is never wrong; that is always respected and acknowledged”.
His participation sparked controversy from the start. As a deputy on leave from Morena, he justified his absence in an Instagram video: “Imagine and think that this experiment should be used for those of us seeking to be voted as popular representation, to know candidates in depth; we save time and money (...) here real personalities, loyalties, and commitments of each participant are seen”. Morena's National Commission of Honesty and Justice temporarily suspended his party rights, stating he must conduct himself with respect to the party's principles. Singer Susana Zabaleta criticized his decision to join the reality show.
Lupita Jones, previously eliminated and a panelist, reacted: “I'm surprised, I thought he was very strong and had many followers due to all his experience (...) I hope the team he formed inside doesn't disintegrate. I have mixed feelings; I supported Caeli and Celinee, but I trusted he had a lot of support”. Inside the house, Oriana Marzoli celebrated Mayer's exit.
