SK hynix maintains lead in global DRAM market in Q3

SK hynix topped the global dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) market in the third quarter of 2025. According to industry tracker Omdia, the company's market share stood at 34.1 percent, holding the top spot for three straight quarters despite Samsung Electronics narrowing the gap. Global DRAM sales surged 30 percent from the previous quarter to $40.3 billion.

SK hynix accounted for 34.1 percent of the global DRAM market in sales during the July-September period of 2025, securing the top position for the third consecutive quarter. This figure represents a 5.3 percentage-point decline from the previous quarter, yet it held firm against competitors, per data from industry tracker Omdia. Samsung Electronics saw its share rise by 0.5 percentage point to 33.7 percent, closing the gap with SK hynix, while U.S.-based Micron Technology Inc. held 25.8 percent.

Global DRAM sales climbed 30 percent from the prior quarter to $40.3 billion, driven by rising prices. SK hynix first overtook Samsung Electronics in the DRAM sector back in the first quarter of 2025. Both sources draw from Omdia data, presenting consistent details without contradictions.
