Sony Santa Monica has reassured fans that Kratos will star in more God of War games following the announcement of God of War Laufey. The new title stars Faye, also known as Laufey, as the protagonist.
The studio made the comments after the reveal of God of War Laufey at a recent PlayStation event. In an interview, director Cory Barlog stated that Kratos games will continue throughout the franchise history. Ariel Lawrence, director of the new game, added that stories about the big guy cannot be avoided. Sony Santa Monica posted on X that Kratos is the God of War and that the studio has many more stories to tell with him. The post noted excitement about exploring the afterlife of the gods with Faye for now. The debut trailer shows Kratos appearing briefly as an illusion. God of War Laufey has no release date yet.
