The Sri Lanka Padel League (SLPL) will return for its second season from June 19 to 21, 2026, at Padel House, reinforcing the country's position as South Asia's emerging center for franchise padel. Building on a successful inaugural year, the event features eight corporate-backed teams, including newcomers Ahangama Ballers and Weligama Sharks, with defending champions Colombo Aces aiming to retain their title in men's, women's, and mixed formats. Owned by Eventistry Sports, the league introduces changes to player auctions and registrations to boost participation.
The SLPL's sophomore edition promises increased ambition and broader international involvement following its groundbreaking first season. Eight franchises, supported by corporate entities, will compete for dominance. Among them are debutants Ahangama Ballers and Weligama Sharks, joining established teams like the title-holding Colombo Aces.
The competition will unfold in high-intensity matches across men's, women's, and mixed categories, highlighting the league's commitment to diverse formats. Eventistry Sports, the league's owner, has outlined key updates to enhance team strategies. Notably, the April Player Auction eliminates category divisions, allowing franchises complete authority in assembling their squads.
Registrations for players—open to both local and international athletes—will close on April 14 and can be submitted through slpadelleague.com. This move aims to attract a wider talent pool and foster competitive balance.
League Director Karin Wijeratne emphasized the event's significance, stating, “Season Two is about elevation. We are taking the definitive step in the evolution of franchise sport in this country.”
By hosting at Padel House, the SLPL continues to position Sri Lanka as a pivotal destination for padel in South Asia, drawing attention to the sport's growing regional footprint.
