The upcoming Street Fighter movie marks the franchise's third live-action attempt, following the 1994 film and the less favorably received 2009 version. Filming began in August 2025 in Australia and has since wrapped, with production now in post-production under director Kitao Sakurai.

Set in 1993—the year Street Fighter II launched in arcades—the plot centers on estranged fighters Ryu and Ken reuniting for the World Warrior Tournament at Chun-Li's urging. The official synopsis states: “Set in 1993, estranged Street Fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury. But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past.
