Police in Isabela have filed a murder complaint against a suspect alias 'JayR' over the killing of Lullete Jane Ramilo-De Guzman, a former Miss Philippines Earth 2013 runner-up, on February 13 in San Manuel.
On February 13, around 6:45 pm, Lullete Jane Ramilo-De Guzman was shot while inside her vehicle with her three children in Barangay Cabaritan, San Manuel, Isabela province. A motorcycle-riding gunman attacked her in front of her home before fleeing. She was rushed to a hospital but declared dead on arrival from gunshot wounds to the face and body. Her children were unharmed but reportedly suffering psychological trauma. Ramilo-De Guzman, a public school teacher and graduate of the University of Perpetual Help System-Isabela, had represented San Manuel in the 2013 Miss Philippines Earth as a runner-up. On March 18, the Philippine National Police announced that the Isabela Police Provincial Office filed a murder complaint against alias 'JayR,' who is undergoing preliminary investigation. Authorities are coordinating with the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor to ensure evidence integrity. A manhunt is underway for other suspects believed involved. Cagayan Valley Police Regional Director Brigadier General Antonio Marallag Jr. stated, 'Justice is not the privilege of a few, but the right of all.' San Manuel police chief Major Rogelio Natividad said the probe continues to identify the gunman and motive. Police urged the public to provide information.
