Sweet Pill, the emo outfit from the Philadelphia and New Jersey area, has shared news of their upcoming sophomore album. Titled Still There's a Glow, this follow-up to their debut will arrive on March 13, 2026, through Hopeless Records. The band, known for their introspective sound, crafted the project during a period of significant personal change.
Vocalist Zayna Youssef opened up about the album's origins, noting a bout of depression in the previous spring that led her to therapy. Approaching her 30th birthday, she reflected on the gap between writing their first record as a college graduate and her current life stage. 'I could’ve kept making bad choices because they’re easy, but I had to come clean to myself,' Youssef said. She explained that half the songs were written before this turning point and the rest after, blending self-criticism with emerging hope. The title evokes persistence amid hardship: 'You put out a fire, there’s still an ember that’s still glowing – that’s the record. It’s about being at a low and climbing out of it.'
Guitarist Jayce Williams highlighted the collective impact, stating, 'Seeing Zayna change influenced the band – we grew, both as songwriters and as people.'
Lead Single and Tracklist
Accompanying the reveal is the single No Control, the first track completed for the album. Youssef described it as a raw admission of indulgence and lack of boundaries: 'I was feeling a bit…indulgent. Taking what I want, whenever I wanted it, and disregarding the world all at the same time. I felt like my self-worth was cheap.' The song's video, directed by Johnny Komar, is now available online.
