Tamron Hall renewed for season 8 amid daytime TV cancellations

The Disney-owned syndicated talk show Tamron Hall has been renewed for an eighth season, extending through 2027. This renewal comes amid several cancellations in daytime television. Host Tamron Hall shared insights on industry changes.

Daytime television faces significant shifts, with multiple shows facing cancellation while others secure renewals. Variety reports that Tamron Hall, which premiered in 2019, has been renewed for season 8. The show has earned two Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Informative Talk Show Host for Tamron Hall in 2020 and 2022, along with 14 additional nominations. Hall revealed the season 8 tagline, 'Let's Keep Talking,' came to her amid reflections on television and societal changes. She stated, 'The landscape is always going to change. Some of Conan's jokes at the Oscars where he talked about us watching our phones to consume movies and all of these AI jokes, they landed partly because the industry is fearful of these changes. ... Everywhere you go, people are having the same conversation. 'Will I keep working? Will I continue to be able to do what I love?' That's not unique to daytime TV. I think what we are seeing is a reflection of a larger conversation.' NBCUniversal announced changes to its syndication division, leading to cancellations of Access Hollywood, Access Hollywood Live, Karamo, and The Steve Wilkos Show. New episodes of Karamo and The Steve Wilkos Show will air through summer, while Access Hollywood continues production through September. The Kelly Clarkson Show will end after its seventh season, with Clarkson saying, 'Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives.' Sherri, hosted by Sherri Shepherd, was canceled after four seasons, with final episodes airing this fall. In contrast, The Jennifer Hudson Show received a fifth-season renewal through 2027, and The Drew Barrymore Show earned a two-season pickup through 2028.
