Team Dresch to release first album in 30 years

Legendary queercore band Team Dresch will release their first new album in three decades this September. The record, titled Furthermore, is due out on September 18 via Jealous Butcher Records.

The group shared details of the upcoming project along with a music video for lead single “One Song.” Twylo Landey, daughter of singer and bassist Jody Bleyle, choreographed and stars in the clip, which references Maurice Sendak’s book In the Night Kitchen.

Team Dresch formed in Portland, Oregon, in 1993 with Bleyle, Kaia Wilson, and Donna Dresch. Drummers Marcéo Martinez and Melissa York, who appeared on earlier records, both return for the new album.

Band members described the single in a statement as “a love song to our young selves from our present selves” and “a song of hope and power for all the young queers who are dragged into the struggle.”

The announcement follows recent reissues and anniversary shows marking 30 years since the band’s debut album Personal Best.
