A 22-year-old Tennessee woman faces multiple charges after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend in the thigh during an argument on July 4. Jasminne Lynn Thomas was arrested and is being held without bond in Hamilton County Jail.
Deputies responded to a home on Village Garden Drive in Ooltewah after the victim's mother and her boyfriend returned from watching fireworks. They found the 33-year-old man bleeding heavily from a wound in his upper right thigh.
Officers applied a tourniquet to stop the bleeding before paramedics arrived. The victim was taken to Erlanger Baroness Hospital for surgery. Investigators recovered a 9-inch Cuisinart kitchen knife with blood on the blade from the kitchen table.
Thomas told detectives she did not stab the victim, but he stated that she did during an argument after the pair had used controlled substances. She was arrested on outstanding warrants for attempted murder in the first degree, aggravated domestic assault, and aggravated burglary.
