Tesla has confirmed that its upcoming Cybercab robotaxi will include built-in Starlink V5 satellite connectivity. The announcement appeared in social media posts and a new display at the company's Santana Row showroom in San Jose.
Tesla shared a graphic on X that labels a Starlink antenna integrated into the Cybercab roof structure. The diagram places the satellite terminal alongside cameras, sensors, a 5G antenna, and the Full Self-Driving computer.
Starlink posted that the setup provides “High-speed internet from space for the future of autonomous vehicles.” Tesla added a shorter note stating “Starlink V5 directly integrated in Cybercab.”
The Cybercab display at the Santana Row showroom features production units without steering wheels, side mirrors, or pedals. The vehicle is designed for autonomous ride-hailing of one or two passengers in geofenced areas.
The integration supplies connectivity for telemetry uploads, map updates, and passenger Wi-Fi. It also offers a backup link in areas where cellular coverage is limited.
