The Tesla Diner in West Hollywood, California, has introduced a mini racetrack for children during the holiday season, featuring mini Cybertrucks racing around a red Model Y Performance. Elon Musk reacted to a viral video of the setup, calling it 'super cute.' This interactive experience accompanies a Holiday Market selling Tesla merchandise.
The Tesla Diner, which opened in July 2025 in West Hollywood, California, combines a restaurant, Supercharger stations, drive-in movie theater, and merchandise store in a retro-futuristic design inspired by The Jetsons. Surrounded by about 80 Supercharger stalls, visitors can order food from their vehicles and enjoy movie audio through car systems. A spiral staircase leads to the rooftop Skypad, offering views and Tesla-branded items. In its early days, an Optimus robot served popcorn, though it is no longer operational.
For the 2025 holiday season, Tesla has enhanced the site with family-friendly attractions. A tire-lined mini racetrack encircles an Ultra Red Model Y Performance at the center, where children drive miniature Cybertrucks or other Tesla toy cars. A 16-second video shared on X shows two kids navigating the track amid a gathering crowd, with Superchargers and a glowing screen in the background. The post described the scene as an 'epic setup' transforming a routine charging stop into a lively event.
Adjacent stalls form a Holiday Market offering limited merchandise, including small gift boxes of miniature Cybertrucks, Tesla Semis, and other models. Cybertruck trunks display Christmas toys and fun items. Visitors can hand-paint a displayed Cybertruck, already marked with various colors. An information card notes, 'Tesla will be filming here today,' suggesting official footage for a potential pre-Christmas promo video.
Elon Musk, who first proposed a Tesla-themed diner in 2018, replied to the video with 'super cute.' User responses included enthusiasm, such as plans to visit with children and queries about buying mini trucks. One suggested enhancing the track like Mario Kart with power-ups, while another jokingly attributed the idea to Musk's son, Little X. Fans praise the marketing but call for more locations, with no announcements yet.
