Tethergeist, a new puzzle platformer from O. and Co. Games and Out of Space Games, has released on PC and Nintendo Switch. The game features protagonist Mae, who uses astral projection tied to her body via a tether.
Players control Mae as she undertakes a pilgrimage using her unique tethered spirit form. The spirit can pass through obstacles like thorns and crystals that block her physical body, which then gets pulled along upon release.
Additional mechanics include collecting yellow flowers to enable projections, moving platforms, wall-kicks, red energy zones, timed spikes, bounce mushrooms, and jellyfish launchers. The game draws from Celeste with unlimited lives, screen-based respawns, and hidden red flowers for extra challenge.
Tethergeist features colorful levels, serene music, and a companion axolotl spirit named Bao. It emphasizes precise execution across increasingly complex screens while remaining accessible.
