Tiger Woods congratulates Collin Morikawa on Pebble Beach win

Collin Morikawa secured his first PGA Tour victory in two years at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Tiger Woods offered personal congratulations to the champion during a video interaction. Morikawa, who idolized Woods growing up, expressed gratitude for the moment.

The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am concluded with Collin Morikawa claiming the title, marking his first PGA Tour win since the 2023 Zozo Championship. This victory ends a winless streak through 2024 and 2025 seasons, during which Morikawa finished second in the 2024 FedEx Cup standings and dropped to 19th the following year. He attributed his resurgence to personal adjustments in his game, stating, “What I’ve learned is that the biggest thing is you just cannot copy anyone else. You might be able to take a little bit, but just because Scottie [Scheffler] is doing something great does not mean I have to go do it.”

In a video released by TaylorMade Golf ahead of the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club, Tiger Woods interacted with Morikawa on the course. After Morikawa hit a shot, Woods remarked, “Good shot!” Morikawa replied, “For you,” prompting Woods to say, “Hell of a shot from there. I would’ve hit five wood.” The two then embraced, with Woods adding, “Congratulations, brother. You look good, dude.”

Morikawa has long admired Woods, revealing in a 2021 interview before the Dubai Desert Classic that he grew up watching the 15-time major champion and was thrilled to play alongside him on the PGA Tour. Woods had previously welcomed Morikawa to the major winners' club after his 2020 PGA Championship triumph. Between 2019 and 2023, Morikawa amassed six PGA Tour victories, including the 2020 PGA Championship and the 2021 Open Championship.

The Genesis Invitational, hosted at Woods' Riviera Country Club, follows the Pebble Beach event and features the 50-year-old Woods in the field.
